Mike Thompson, CEO Mike Thompson
Chief Executive Officer

Mike brings more than 25 years of health care management expertise to HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Gadsden. He received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has worked in the specialty area of rehabilitation for the past 20 years and is also certified as a registered rehabilitation nurse.

Zania Narcisse, MD Zania Narcisse, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Narcisse joined the medical staff at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Gadsden in September 2011 as the medical director. She received her doctor of medicine degree from Meharry Medical College School of Medicine and Rehabilitation in Nashville, Tenn., and completed her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Narcisse is currently board eligible in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Diem Yeung, MD Diem Yeung, MD
Program Director
Dr. Diem Yeung joined the medical staff at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Gadsden in September 2011 as program director. She is a graduate of University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Yeung is currently board eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Janet Reason Janet Reason
Director of Therapy Operations
Janet has worked in both the inpatient and outpatient departments and served as a senior therapist prior to being appointed director of therapy operations. She specializes in stroke rehabilitation and has assisted the hospital in obtaining a Disease-Specific Certification in Stroke Rehabilitation through The Joint Commission. Janet graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in rehabilitation services and received her master's degree in physical therapy from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Connie Gunn Connie Gunn
Director of Marketing Operations
Connie received a nursing degree from Troy State University and has worked in various areas of health care for nearly 30 years.  She has worked for HealthSouth since 1992 within the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic Regions. 

Heather Blevins Heather Blevins
Director of Human Resources
Heather brings nearly 10 years of human resource experience to HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Gadsden.  She has been with HealthSouth since 2001 and has been the hospital's director of human resources since October 2007.  She graduated from Jacksonville State University with a bachelor's degree in business management and a master's degree in business administration.
